Community Education

About 1 in 10 children are sexually abused before age 18! In 90% of sexual abuse cases, the child and the child’s family KNOWS the abuser.

The Anna Crawford Children’s Center is pleased to offer this important training to the public.  Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children is a prevention training workshop designed to educate adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  The workshop emphasizes the adult’s role in child sexual abuse prevention, by empowering the workshop participant with awareness, education and choice, so we can better protect “our children”.

Each Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children workshop is provided free of charge by an authorized facilitator who leads a 2.5-hour class.  The class focuses on a compelling DVD that consists of testimonies from several courageous individuals that were victims of child sexual abuse and, as adults, are working hard to break this cycle of abuse.

It is a gift for us to be able to partner with you in the hope that “our children” can live and thrive in a joyful, productive, and SAFE environment.
